« on: Tuesday 09 July 24 21:10 BST (UK) »
Searching for a memorial to Patrick Ryan buried in Yew tree Cemetery 20/6/1915 in plot 491He died in West Derby Infirmary. I think he is the husband of my great aunt Annie. With his wife Annie and infant son . Born in county Tipperary they had left on the Baltic liner for New York on 14 th February 1915 , however they returned on the Baltic return trip to Liverpool arriving 12th March 1915 Family story was he had become ill on the outward journey . His wife and son returned to Tipperary !
Any ideas how I can find out?
Thanks

as you probably already know he is in grave 491, if you look through the pages you will find other people in this plot , at least 6 , so doubtful it will have a headstone ,

Annie married Patrick Ryan in Thurles county Tipperary 1913. is there any way I can check if this is our Patrick.?  are the records public? are there any records of the west Derby infirmary?
Annie  returned to Ireland a widow with her 11 month old son .  The family arrived back in Liverpool from New York on the 'Baltic ' in March 1915 a month after they left Liverpool on the 'Baltic ' for New York. . I have those records .
Thanks

Including Patrick, the burial register shows 12 people in Grave 491 - 7 of whom were children ranging in age from 4 days - 5yrs.

As others have said this was a public grave so there won't be a gravestone

This looks likely to be his death registration

1915 , Q2   West Derby 8b 676, age 33
£3 will get you the image of the death register via
https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/indexes_search.asp
Though you have to register to be able to search and then order

and there is a Workhouse (which would have included Mill St which was the West Derby Union workhouse Hospital) Creed Register record on Find My Past (may be available at your local library if you don't have a sub) for a Patrick Ryan born 1882 which looks very likely to be him

I'm not sure if anything on the following helps sort out if he was great aunt Annie's husband:

There are 2 UK outgoing passenger lists; the family boarded in Tipperary, to get to Liverpool, and then Liverpool to New York. The trip from Thurles to Liverpool was 15 Feb 1915.
The US shipping manifest for the Baltic ship arriving 17 Feb 1915 in New York. shows Patrick (age 33) as born in Leigh, England*, Annie (age 33) in Moyne, Ireland, and infant James (11 mos) in Thurles, Ireland.

The following may or may not be your man, but the times and places match too well:
In the Dublin Daily Express 18 May 1915, there was an articles on multiple charges on fraud/bankruptcy.  At the end of this article, is this:
The last was a case under the Bankruptcy code, in which a man named Patrick Ryan, who apparently came from Thurles, was indicted for having on February 15 left Ireland, bringing with him portion of hid property which ought to be distributed amongst his creditors.  On that day month he was adjudicated a bankrupt and was arrested at Liverpool.

Other similar articles indicate that he pleaded guilty, but was allowed out on bail (after the May court ruling) to consult a bankruptcy lawyer, and that he was to return to court in the July sessions.

* I would think he said he was from "Leigh" without stating what country, and the person filling out the passenger assumed wrong.

This is probably the correct birth for his son James, in case you don't have it, showing his mother Annie as maiden name "Wall":
