How do I change Ancestry account Manager
« on: Friday 12 July 24 09:31 BST (UK) »
I've noticed that I have my Ancestry account or DNA test managed by my mum.
I likely had that set when I purchased a Ancestry DNA test for for my mum and had 3 months paid membership on her account as part of the deal.

I've not been able to find where to change my account manager back to me.

Top right corner which I think should be your initials, to go to Account Settings.

Click on DNA within the left hand side list of options

Click on the relevant DNA test if there are more than one

Go down list to DNA Test Sharing

Invite the relevant person as Manager from the drop down list

Thanks SouthseaSteel,
Following your list,

After clicking on DNA

"Your DNA tests" nothing there about editing manager.

"DNA tests shared with you"
You've been invited by others to view, collaborate and/or manage these DNA tests.

My DNA test does not appear there.

Do I need to use my mothers account?

Mick

Yes. Looks like you bought it for her so she "owns" it and this will transfer "management" to you via an e-mail to you

Good luck

I was hoping not as I forgot what her email and account password is.

Time to invite my mum over for a coffee or 2 and have a phone call with Ancestry.

I did call Ancestry about not been able to log into my mum's account.
I was told they need to also talk to my mum.

I would have you are your Mum in the same location with you logged into your account on one device and she into hers on another.

Have all user names passwords, Bank account direct debit details for each etc

Or if she is not nearby then you could set up Skype/Zoom etc and even use Team Viewer to have control over her PC.

Then call Ancestry
