Excellent replies, thank you all.

Fascinating links too - it never ceases to amaze me how much information is available through this forum.

It took me a while to find this actual marriage record (it's actually one further up the page - I posted the bottom bit because it had most information). I tried Ancestry, then FamilySearch, then tried irishgenealogy.ie and bingo there it was. I suppose if it was easy it would be boring.

Thanks. Yes that's the page I had - I couldn't post the whole thing because the file size was too large. My ancestor is further up - Margaret Ann Todd and James Robinson.

BTW what is the correct name for the document you and I posted - a 'Marriage Return'? As opposed to a Marriage Registration or Register? Or maybe a 'Copy of the Marriage Register Book' (as it says on the bottom of your page)? Presumably Marriage Register Books aren't available to view on-line?

I just want to use the correct term for the Source.
