How To Access The Match List of Other 23AndMe Tests
« on: Sunday 21 July 24 15:24 BST (UK) »
Hello,

Some time ago I bought a test for a relative with 23AndMe and was able to access the account with username and password. Now they require you to enter a code sent by email to login. So I can't see the account.

I asked them to invite me, and share the ancestry reports. But now that is done I can't see anything other than their profile.

Is there a way to get access to their match list?

I contacted the support and they said they don't offer this feature. I suggested they add it, like Ancestry and My Heritage.

Buying an Ancestry DNA test offers IMO far better VFM than buying any other testing companies kit.

23&me does not offer the same genealogical services that Ancestry does.

Now that Ancestry has introduced Pro Tools you can view matches and see exactly how much cM you share not only with a specific match but with each of the shared matches.

I suggest you buy and take an Ancestry test.

You may also like to download a copy of your 23&me DNA results and upload them to MyHeritage, ftDNA and Gedmatch to give you access to other matches

I bought 23AndMe for my aunt for more matches. I have lots lines that need closer matches to solve and 23AndMe did have one, but now I can't look at it; since you can't login without a code sent by email.

If you have your aunt's login details, you can login then text her and ask her to text you back the code.
