Help with the Hübners
« on: Wednesday 07 August 24 01:37 BST (UK) »
I am currently researching the Hübner family, focusing on Johann Daniel Hübner, along with the earliest known ancestor. Johann Daniel Hübner was documented as a master clothmaker and burgher of Budsin (Budzyń) from the only available mention of him in his son's marriage record in 1783.

His son, Gottfried Benjamin Hübner, was born around 1754. According to historical records, Gottfried Benjamin Hübner began as a Tuchmacher Geselle (apprentice clothmaker) in Rogasen in 1776. By 1782, he had become a Bürger (citizen) and Tuchmachermeister (master clothmaker) in Bnin, Schrimm, Posen.

On August 25, 1783, Gottfried Benjamin Hübner married Anna Dorothea Priebe in Bnin, Schrimm, Posen. Over the following 14 years, the couple had seven children:

Anna Christina (born November 17, 1784, Kornik, Schrimm, Posen)
Johann Daniel (born August 4, 1786, Zaniemysl, Schroda, Posen)
Gottlieb Benjamin (born July 16, 1788, Zaniemysl, Schroda, Posen)
Anna Dorothea (born October 26, 1790, Zaniemysl, Schroda, Posen)
Samuel Gottlob (born around 1793, Zaniemysl, Schroda, Posen)
Beate Gottliebe (born January 14, 1796, Zaniemysl, Schroda, Posen)
Anna Juliana (born January 15, 1799, Zaniemysl, Schroda, Posen)

Gottfried Benjamin Hübner passed away at the age of 55 on October 7, 1809, in Zaniemysl, Schroda, Posen, due to "Geschwulst" (dropsy). He was burried on October 9, 1809, in Zaniemysl.

If someone could help, it would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

What exactly are you wanting?

Have you tracked the children ie you've arrived at Johann Daniel Hübner by tracking back from you?

What relation is this person/family to you ie which of the children do you descend from?  Is it Gottfried Benjamin?

if you have checked all the BDMs of the children of Johann Daniel Hubner then you may find clues as to family names. Some times you have to work laterally ie extend the branches rather than being able to do a straight line back.

Johann Gottlieb HUBNER, a carpenter, and family arrived per Heloise into Port Adelaide, South Australia 1847 from Bremen.  It doesn't state where they are from but a lot of the immigrants per that ship were from Posen.

I have done that already: I have traced every child possible from the couple. Unfortunately, none of the records give a mither for Johann. I am sending the pdf file on a link as it is huge. It is my cousin's and has gave me permission to share it.

Regarding bitzar, that could be a descendant, but unfortunately have not found any named in the research I have completed.

...

Are there names of female children that appear frequently in the grnadchildren's names

have you tried searching for these names plus surname  as a possible name for the mother?
