Thank you again, melba_schmelba.  Knowing that others have interest and take the time to explain things is a motivator.
You're welcome, we're all in a process of learning about ProTools and how they are going to make things easier with research, this a good review of the features below by Jonny Perl, the creator of DNA Painter

An interesting read, thanks for posting.

In 9 days time I am giving a presentation to our local Family History group about tactics to help solve Brick-walls and I have used similar techniques to what Johnny Perl writes about so it is well worth reading his Blog.

In one tree I am managing the 2XG GF is unknown and I have used the Pro Tools to look at the matches in the 20 > 60 cM range and at the cM values that the Shared Matches have with each likely candidate.

No joy so far but it has led to many being “Grouped” together and all have been Annotated using the Notes feature as to which Grandparent or Great Grandparent line they are likely to descend from.

So whilst no success so far, the seeds are sown.

Hmm, very interesting comments.

Thank you melba_schmelba for providing the link.  Biggles50, thank you for motivating me even more to check out ProTools.  I hope you have an enjoyable time with your presentation.

I will read the link tonight when all is quiet here.  Thank you again, Lisa
