Hi,
the slater had just arrived and is on the roof. I will get the final page finished at some point, but won't get round to it today.
What I can tell you is that the will is not for Patrick Lyell, but for his wife Elizabeth Sinclair. The inventory, as you see, does list their joint property and give you an idea of their business interests.
In her will on the 4th page, Elizabeth leaves money, clothing and jewellery to various people, but no children by Patrick Lyell are mentioned (doesn't mean there aren't any). She mentions her daughter, Elizabeth Waik, wife of Adam Wilson. Presumably a daughter by a previous marriage. Also mentioned are Thomas Waik and his daughter, and a Helen Williamson.
The executors are Patrick Lyell (always Lyall in the testament) and her brother, Sir Hector Sinclair. Sir is a title given to a priest who doesn't have an M.A. degree from a university. I found out from another source that Hector was a prebendary of the collegiate church of Seton.
The full transcript will appear at some point (slaters etc. permitting!).
