The location is West Angmering, at a place called Lopdell. A calf and two bullocks have been taken and the plaintiff wants them back. This is replevin, an action to recover personal goods and livestock pending resolution of the underlying issues of landholding. The details are not given, but typically there is a disagreement about common rights of pasture. Livestock are impounded, and the owner sues to get them back. Determining common rights might take some time, so he wants his cattle back sooner.

Thank you Vance

That's perfect. A really good explanation. I really am in your debt for all the work you do on the aalt.law.uh.edu website and the help you give in your free time with these questions I pose from time to time. It is very much appreciated.

Just as a matter of interest are you UK or US based?

Enjoy the weekend and thank you again.

David
