Previous post

Mary Josephine Morris, daughter of Herbert Morris & Margaret Murphy, born 29 May 1920-

With regard to 1939 register there is one redacted entry, possibly a son/daughter born between 1920-3, cannot work out who though.

So, it looks like Mary and her sister married at Gosport.
Mary went to live in Windsor during the war and after went to Germany to live with her husband as part of the occupation forces until abt 1960. Her first son had a younger brother David. Probably born in Germany’ hence my not finding him in BMD.

Bit of speculation here on my part re the redacted entry on 1939 war register. Between 1920-22 only 3 James Herbert Morris were born in England/Wales. 4 James Herbert Morris deaths with dob 1920-22 appear on Anc*. 3 of these 4 appear in 1939. The one who does not has a dob 28th April 1921, and died 1985 Weston Super Mare. There is a James Herbert Morris who aged 38 in 1960 appears in newspapers in Gosport with a failing business.

Given that the father was named Herbert James the above is a possible contender.

I can't agree with your reasoning that a James Herbert Morris might be the father of a Herbert James Morris since the combination of names are very common in England.

I could not see a birth in Ireland or England for this child-

Catherine grace morris appears with other members of the Herbert morris household in 1939. She may well be someone totally different but I suspect not as for James Herbert c1921 being the redacted entry in 1939 is speculative
