The jurors for the lord King present upon their oaths that Christopher Browne ^puts himself, acquitted^ lately of East Keswick in the West Riding of the aforesaid county, labourer, John Hancock, lately of the same place, labourer, Robert Lawley ^puts himself, acquitted^ lately of the same place, yeoman, John Scatcherd ^puts himself, acquitted^ lately of the same place, yeoman, and Richard Ollerton, lately of the same place, yeoman, on the first day of October in the third year of the reign of our lord James II [1687] by the grace of God now King of England etc., with force and arms etc., at Harwood in the West Riding of the aforesaid county, unlawfully, wildly and riotously assembled themselves and gathered, and thus being assembled amongst themselves and gathered they wildly and riotously broke and entered into a close of the distinguished Thomas, Earl of the Isle of Thanet, called Harwood Moor, and unlawfully and riotously pulled out and broke down 50 rods of fencing being in the aforesaid close, and inflicted other outrages on the same Thomas, Earl of Thanet, against the peace, etc.
