MORLESBURY/ MALSBURY s of Moreton pinkney
« Reply #18 on: Saturday 28 September 24 16:43 BST (UK) »
I'm learning so much about the families of this village
Going through from 1759 -1810
Seeing familiar names reoccurring HUMFREY from John's mother
TALBOT from in-laws

Showing how some families stayed put for generations

How spellings changed and I think vocabulary went from base born in 1700s to illegitimate in 1800s

I'm going to start at beginning of this book 1706 and work through the rest of the pages (182 altogether )
It a pity that occupations aren't given + potential birth fathers

Richard morlesbury 6 Oct 1706 to John + Judith

First entry probably related to this family

I've reached 1725 and found ancestors

Jonas Malsbury m Elizabeth BOURNE by banns in August 1724

They baptised twin boys JOHN + James on Jan 1st 1725

I think I can join the dots to John 1759

There seems to be more deaths of John's than births

The early 1700 baptisms don't give mother's names

& Some are impossible to read could be Jo Jonathan Jonas Jonah or John

No more mentions of a Judith

In 1730 s there are a couple
William MALSBURY married Ann HARRY 1732
They have 5 children
In the next decade
 4 die before 1740

2 children are named after a deceased
Sibling

That's a good days work for me
I hope eventually to join the dots to this couple too

Can now confirm that all the MALSBURY s in moreton pinkney in 1700s were related to original couple

John/ Johen + Judith/Judeth./Judy  morlesbury of 1600s

I may have  missed some transcribed as Walesy  Walmsly etc but closer look at original and finding same first  names on other pages helped . Will write a summary.soon

# some are definitely a different name starting W

I'm fairly sure WALESBY is a different family

I didnt  find John MALSBURY s marriage to  Judith

But did find another couple Jonas & Ann  R#  corrected by spellcheck to raspberry..sorry
Having son Thomas  in 1707

Some early deaths ;
Mary daughter of John buried Feb 1st 1706
Mary daughter of John + Judith d 1709

John malsbury son of John marslbury the younger buried may 25th 1707

I wonder if John married to Judith is John the younger
John son of John died 1710
& Another John son of John died 1711

There are a couple of interesting apprenticeships too
In 1706 William Maulsbury son of John of Moreton pinkney was apprenticed for 8 years to tiler bricklayer

 JONAS MALSBURY bricklayer tiler

Date at top of document was 1721 so maybe he stayed on
William  married Ann HARRY in 1731 in Moreton Pinkney
They had 3 children who died as infants John .Ann & William
+ Another william.1742 in the same village

Another son of John
Jonah was apprenticed to a stationer in London for 7 years in 1693
I don't know how old he would have been .
