Had a breakthrough  ;D

I was struggling to find Ellen’s GRO record and a marriage for Ann Forest but reckon I’ve found it.

5 Dec 1853 at Drypool, Patrick Fitzgerald (21), bachelor, labourer, son of John Fitzgerald marries Hannah Buttler (18) dau of Patrick Buttler

GRO Record had 21 Aug 1856 at Pound’s Passage, Hull, Helen FitzGerrard dau of Patrick FitzGerrard (stone mason’s labourer) & Hannah Butler. Birth date matches with the baptism in 1858.
Rooney, Muldoon, Conroy, Keough, McIntyre, Weatherson, Howey (Nthland)
Green, Dillon, Drain, Cox, Muldoon (Lanark)

Now having trouble locating Margaret in 1871 with possible mother Ann.

In fact, the whole Buckley family disappears  ???

I think Ann has moved on to a new partner - 1871 census, Northowram, Halifax

John Butterworth   40  cotton spinner b Oldham
Annie Butterworth    37    Wife b London
Margaret Butterworth    19   b Hull
Ellen Butterworth      15   b Hull
Annie Butterworth      4
John Butterworth       1

There's a birth registrations for a John Butterworth (1870) with mmn Buckley in Halifax - although the image says all the children were b Hull

* What documentation do you have for the BDM events of the people you are researching?

* Can you please list all the information on the marriage certificate, 1877  WALSH x FORREST.

* Can you please list the information on the birth certificates for the children born of this couple.

* Can you please identify the family you see in the 1881 Census  ie  names, ages and birthplace. Using Ancestry, England Census 1881, I am not seeing the family.

This looks interesting?

Wow, what a great find! And certainly a very useful resource too—thank you. I don’t recognise any other names in this marriage but this at least means Margaret was in Lancashire by about 1875.

If it recall that is the same Sylvester Walsh. In 1891 he was living at Chadderton as a ‘cousin’ of Mary E Walsh (though would be a nephew). Still no sign of Margaret.

Thomas Colman, 34, head
Mary E Colman, 29, wife
Mary J Colman, 9, dau
Thomas Colman, 5, son
Alexander Colman, 2, son
John Colman, 2/12, son
Thomas Walsh, 70, father
Sylvester Walsh, 13, cousin, born Oldham Lanc

Although this newspaper article (Stalybridge Reporter, 27 Feb 1892) about her stealing in does indicate that she would’ve been living at Wooley’s Court at some point. It seems Peter Walsh was quite abusive to her :-\ so perhaps that’s why she stayed apart.
