Death certificate/obit James Elden Johnston

James Elden Johnston died 19 APR 1901 • Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Looking for confirmation of his parents names and his siblings. His parents should be Richard Johnston and Christiana someone. He should have a brother William living in Wroxeter Township, Huron Co., Ontario Canada.

in the bio it lists all her children.

Thanks so much, Sandra. That does help. James’ possible brother William died June 1, 1903 in Wroxeter Township, Huron Co., Ontario and is buried with his wife Sarah someone. William was born 1822ish in Ireland and Sarah abt. 1827-1832 in Ireland. Sarah died Mar 27, 1890. I have the Death Certificates for both of them and no parents are mentioned. Sarah’s just says wife of hotel keeper and her burial record says wife of William. William’s info on findagrave has him mistakenly age 31 instead of 81 and doesn’t mention Sarah. I don’t know if there were any Obituaries.
William and Sarah are first found in Howick Township in 1861 and also in 1871 but by 1881, they are in Wroxeter Township. There are no children found with them on any census. Because of these locations which are different than the family of James Elden Johnston, I am thinking William does not belong to the same family, but who’s to say at this time. Thanks again, Sandra.

According to two online trees, the father of James Elden  Johnston was Richard Johnston, born in 1783 in County Fermanagh, Ireland. Richard died between November 1868 and Mar 1869 in Wallace Township, Perth Co., Ontario. If he had an obit, it might name children.

Ireland is renowned for having less and less information as you try to go further back.
Have you tried experimenting with the middle names : Irving, Elden, Burrough/Burrow, Carter, Fletcher, Sandfield according to one of the family tree's !! ??

Might the obit for Benjamin B Johnston have any different, new information for you - just in case (below)

Sandra, Thanks to the wonderful obits regarding the death of Benjamin Johnston, I was able to find the family in 1911 at the same address with his widow Emily Amanda Johnston, age 51 with her two sons Norquay Andrews Johnston born Dec 1883 and Douglas Earl Johnston, born in 1885. I believe Emily‘s maiden name was Andrews. I also found Douglas in 1931 still in B.C.
I did not find Norquay. Perhaps he moved or he died.
