Stuart Gatewood Gibboney (1877-1944)

Looking for any info on my cousin Stuart Gatewood Gibboney (1877-1944), who enlisted in the U.S. Army on June 27, 1898 at Washington Barracks, D.C. and then served in the Hospital Corps as a Hospital Steward in Manila, Phillipines, until the expiration of his service on June 26, 1901. His civilian occupation had been 'Pharmacist' and he was from Wytheville, Virginia. It appears he was a Veteran of the Spanish-American War but it also looks like he may have served during the Philippine Insurrection as well.
    Specifically looking for his rank and any other proof of his service.

From the newspaper artcile, I see he is at the Boxer Rebellion in Pekin, China in 1900 and army of occupation in Cuba from 1898-99. Where do you see Cuba in 1900?

The information in the obituary seems to match the information in this book from 1916 - https://ia601609.us.archive.org/27/items/onethousandameri00chic/onethousandameri00chic.pdf  He is on page 300.

There is a picture of him in an article about him being accused of assaulting a woman while drinking in her apartment, but the charge was dismissed because no one was there to see it.  https://www.newspapers.com/article/daily-news/158832896/

The WWI & WWII draft registration cards can be seen here - https://www.familysearch.org/search/record/results?count=20&q.givenName=stuart&q.surname=gibboney&f.collectionType=5  The first 6 results seem to be him, except the Revolutionary War Pension result seems to just have his name on a paper from the Thomas Jefferson organization for someone else who was trying to get into the Daughters of the American Revolution.
