Hi, I'm trying to find some information on a John Simpson who was born in 1790 in Sanquhar to William Simpson and Margaret Moffat. John apparently died 31st December 1809 in Demerara (now part of Guyana, South America) but I cannot find anything that tells me when he went there, why he was there and how he died. I know that Scottish people heading over there were heavily involved in the slave trade, but I can't find anything specifically about him. Could anyone offer some insight? or any suggestions on where to look?? thank you for reading and for your time.
