Elizabeth Kate Wise born 12 Jun 1873 Bloomsbury
« on: Monday 11 November 24 16:51 GMT (UK) »
The above was the daughter of James Wise (1849-1917) and Kate Waymark (1849-1912). At 1911 Elizabeth aged 37 and recorded as married was living at 21 Lismore Road, Kentish Town with her parents and their 2 grandchildren, Albert Frederick Harris and William James Harris.
I have presumed that the 2 grandchildren are Elizabeth's. Then I found Wilfred Jabez Harris born 8 Nov 1869 who married an Elizabeth Wise at Morpeth, Northumberland Q3 1900. By 1911 he was living at Gt Yarmouth recorded as a lunatic.
There is another tree on Anc that says she married George Webb 28 Apr 1894 at Paddington and by 1911 had 7 children living at Station Road, Hayes, Middlesex.

So i'm somewhat confused!

Presume mmn on the 2 children’s birth registrations is Wise??

Have you looked at the 1911 entry for George Webb to compare age & birthplace of Elizabeth?

The 1894 marriage shows Elizabeth as aged 20 father James occ cab driver

What is your connection?  If you are descended from one of the children - which one?  Webb or Harris

I'm connected to Kate Waymark who was my 5th cousin, 2R but trying to trace her descendants and the only one causing a problem is Elizabeth Kate. If she married Wilfred Harris, they had 4 children, born Morpeth, Tynemouth, Louth, Lincolnshire and Pancras, London. as Wilfred was a RN Coastguard I guess they moved around a bit? However the last child, William James Harris was born 24 Nov 1909 in Pancras but his ? father died in Gt Yarmouth Q3 1912 and if he was a lunatic then I gues the RN placed him in the Royal Naval Hospital in Yarmouth by 1911.

As to the 1894 marriage, her father was James Wise but in 1891 he was a Harmonium bellows maker but by 1898 he was a Messenger and at 1901 he was back to bellows maker.

I'm confused.com/ I'm beginning to think that the Webb marriage is incorrect as I don't recognise Adelaide Wise as a relation and it doesn't mention her middle name of Kate?

As the Elizabeth in 1911 is shown as the daughter & you are connected to her mother Kate - I think the 1894 marriage is the wrong one.

Wilfred Jabez Harris was b Stratford on Avon but the clincher is the 2 Harris children.  I just wonder why they married in Northumberland?  Makes no sense.  Have you seen the 1901 entry for Morpeth?  Definitely the 1911 Elizabeth so the 1900 marriage is the right one

The 1901 for George & Elizabeth Webb shows Elizabeth b Paddington.  Your Elizabeth was b St Pancras on both the 1901 & 1911 entries

Wilfred's seaman's record shows h was invalided out, insanity, late 1908/early 1909 (not sure which date the comment is in line with - he was given a pension from April 1909)

He seems to have taken shore based postings from late 1899 (In Newbiggin)

You all have reserched and confirmed my original thought that Elizabeth married Wilfred Harris not Webb. The 1901 census at Newbiggin shows them both living together at Seaton Avenue, he aged 31 born Stratford and Elizabeth aged 27 born Pancras, Wilfred's occ was Boatman Coastguard Navy.
I wonder how they came to meet?
Thank you all very much.
