Friday 13th passed without a hitch, thank goodness.

This morning at the local library there was communal carols, was very nice, not to long either, one thing missing this year was a local Romanian church, last year the tinys sang in their own language and one in English, was really very nice to watch and join in.

Yes Viktoria, you have made a sensible decision not to travel far, I am sure your family will come visiting not long after Christmas

Beautiful brisk day with the sun shining, quite bright considering it is about 3pm, our 2 grandchildren are calling in later for fish and chips, that makes a change, I want to watch the final of strictly, not mentioned much on here.

Hope everyone is feeling in good spirits , keep warm, take care

No post today, that's the third day without a visit by Postman Pat.
Not a lot on the telly tonight so I tuned in to The Brokenwood Mysteries. Does anyone else follow the fortunes of these detectives in rural New Zealand. I love it- a fairly gentle antipodean Midsomer Murders.
Quiet day all round.

There's nothing wrong with being mediocre...as long as you're good at it!

I don't watch TV. Hubby switches it on whilst I play Wordfeud and Wordscapes or read.
I check the news online and this takes me a minute.

I sometimes follow The Bidding Room and that is it.

Enjoy!

I've watched the "Brokenwood" mysteries from time to time, usually on the dining room telly, whilst eating. You're right, they are gentle and very like "Midsummer" before it got really silly.

Went to church at 08.30, car was 3 degrees, chilly, on way home it had gone up to 8 degrees, sun out and looks a beautiful day, if I had more time I would get out and do some gardening, a bit overdue to be honest.

Enjoy today

Did not go to Church today - the heating was not working last Sunday, and I have been sniffling all week.No news that it was repaired so I stayed at home warm.
Son back from Head Office , I got such a lot done whilst he was away.
Got a present from neighbours across the street, I take parcels in for  many people, the ones today lived not far from where we lived when first married , so lots of “ Memory Lane “trips.

Well, a rainy day here, so a nice quiet day in.
Have been feeling very tired but putting my drugs out today for the week, I noticed the Levothyroxine were only 25mcg - I am on 75 mcg!I ought to have had three of the 25 mcg.
Ah well, all sorted now .

Just watched The Yorkshire Vet, someone making Sticky toffee pudding with those very special Majool dates served with ice cream ,cream and butterscotch sauce!!!mmmmmm.

Not changed the beds yet, usually done on Thursdays but so wet I had lots of washing inside already,so  tomorrow most probably and again for Christmas or my mother will haunt me!

Well no real news so hope all are O,K. Nice and warm etc.
Viktoria.

I prefer edgier detective shows .I wasn't as impressed with Shetland this last series tho I do like Ashley Jenson as an actress...prefer her in comedies .

It's Wolf Hall tonight !

Tnen bed as I've had toothache leading to headache since last night .+ No painkillers in flat .!

I'm feeling pleased with myself as I decided to put some things for sale on a Facebook community page . I've already sold some vintage ladybird books .A stool that a friend padded and upholstered and possibly some vintage clothes .

Yippee .I will be able to buy a month's ancestry subs with. DNA  protools extra and maybe a month's subscription to a newspaper site !

Well done Brigidmac,I never think to do that, I have a pile of stuff waiting to be taken to the Charity shop ,son wants some of it but will he take it-  >:(——-  >:(

Mind you it has to be sellable stuff ,not sure real brass and copper working paraffin lamps are wanted nowadays, perhaps our local theatre for props.
They looked really nice in our big Victorian house , daft here though!

So encouraging , a visually impaired contestant on Strictly.
He is very witty when in chat shows etc.
Night night everyone still up,Viktoria.

Victoria definitely worth posting on a local site you never know what people want and they usually collect.

I've got lots of childrens books
Too heavy for me to carry to charity shop.

I took a few to Morocco
Will donate some scruffy ones to a mental health art group who can cut them up & use in a current project

Hardback baby books are going to a toddler group

I hope to get some money for new or nearly new ones

Have a potential buyer for Ronnie Barker's  both " a gentleman s relish " hoping to sell it in a job lot with some of my "indelicate"postcard collection 1910- 1970s

Also a potential buyer for jigsaw of vintage ladybird books which I'm hoping to combine with a few of the original books from 1960-80
(1999 counts as vintage too )

No takers for any of the vintage clothes yet .
