What happened to Anthony Proudlock b. 1876 Co. Durham last found in Ireland?

Cwgc : no Anthony Proudlock there either for any participating country. Have also tried British Newspaper Archive, running out of ideas!

The record is on FindMyPast. 

He appears to have gone awol more than once and was discharged 7 Jun 1893 for having made a false statement as to his age when he enlisted.

His attestation was Dec 1891 and his age was given as 18 years and 7 months.  Occupation Tailor, or it could be Sailor, hard to tell!

In 1891 4057/82, he is dittoed as a Coal Miner with his brother Robert.
In ireland Prison Registers, he is on remand in Kilmainham for desertion - sent to military court and he is described as a ‘Sailor & Soldier’.

 There is only one Anthony Proudlock birth registration in Co Durham in the 1870's so it has to be him, whether he went from coal miner to sailor/tailor or soldier

I think his father John  is in Trimdon in 1901 but wife is down as Margaret and should be Mary Ann, and daughter Margaret Jane 1884 is down as Mary J but the writing is not v. Clear.

I will see if any sailing Anthony's turn up, but that's a job for tomorrow.

No merchant or RN records for Anthony. Not in US or Canada census. He has beaten me and I give up!
