Give me a hint...
« on: Friday 10 January 25 15:52 GMT (UK) »
Hello!
I am turning to you for help again. I am studying the genealogy of this ancient noble family. I have learned that Pavel Ivanovich, his wife Elizaveta Dmitrievna and their son - Pavel Pavlovich, ended their days in Nice and were buried there.
This is evidenced by the data from the cemetery. Pavel Ivanovich died in 1876, as did his son. Elizaveta died in 1900. But the cause of their death, unfortunately, is not clear to me... there are no documents in the public domain. In their homeland, almost no documents related to this noble family have survived either.
I need any information about them, about their last days, place of residence, any photo - all this would be invaluable help in preserving reliable memory. Maybe someone can tell me where I can look for information and where to send requests? ...
With gratitude

What is your connection to the family?     If no connection - why are you studying their genealogy?

"In their homeland"  No info given re birth years or origins?

Thank you very much for publishing and answers! This is the genealogical branch of my relatives that I found. I am interested in their life in Nice and any facts about their biography
Pavel Ivanovich Snazin-Tormasov died on February 28, 1876,
his wife Elizaveta Dmitriyena died on December 13, 1900.
Their son died in a duel (?) also in 1876

Surely by 1876 you should be able to get a death registration.

Some information here

No doubt more elsewhere. I am not sufficiently familiar with French records to help otherwise.

French death records will not give a cause of death.

https://archives06.fr/archive/catalogue/communes06/nice/n:205
The death of the son I can see in 1876
It is number 377 (on image 95 in the 1876 deaths), 26 Febrary 1876
Paul Snasinede-Tornassoff
His mother's name is given as Elizabeth Vlassoff.

I do not see any sign that his father died around the same time, judging by the dates I'm guessing the son's death has been mistaken for that of the father.  What cemetery records exactly do you have for them? Does it show a burial, or perhaps just the name listed on a stone?

Hello! Thank you very much! Would you mind attaching a screenshot? For some reason I can't open that page... Pavel died in Nice on February 28, 1876. Today I managed to find his death in the Orthodox Church in Nice.
I would be grateful for a screenshot of the page

Here you go.

There does not seem to be a civil death record for his father, unfortunately.
