Commonwealth War Graves Commission are appealing for blood relatives of Rifleman William Ball - 50297 - The Kings Liverpool Regiment - 2nd/6th Bn -  buried 26/6/1920 - buried Smethwick Uplands Cemetery.

The Commission are in the process of producing a headstone to mark his grave.

Is this him?

Smethwick Telephone 3 July 1920

On 26th June at Hollymore Military Hospital after much suffering patiently borne, William beloved son of William and Elizabeth Ball of 78 Hume? Street Smethwick in his 35th year.


No mention of wife Charlotte though.

William Ball 1885-1920 married Charlotte Pugh 1909 reg. Kings Norton

1921 Charlotte Ball married Albert Edward Goodhall reg. Kings Norton

1921 census he was also a widower 51 Bampton Road Smethwick.
William Albert Ball and Samuel Thomas Ball are listed as Step sons.

The sons had children I didn't name them per the 100 year rule.
There are 3 redacted entries 1939 the brothers and their wives are living together.

If it helps after William Albert Ball died his widow married Arthur Salt 1959.
