« on: Saturday 05 July 25 12:16 BST (UK) »
Hi there, I'm looking for information on my great great grandfather, robert Edward foreman born December 1883 in camberwell London.
He died in December 1907 greater London.
He married Mary Ellen Fillingham i believe the year was 1904.
Im trying to work out how far I am as a long-distance cousin to f F, who was born in battersea London. I no he was a former association with the krays and im aware that my parents robert Edward fredrick foreman and my nan renna hamerton knew the krays as they all came from the same area. So any information on how to work out how long-distance of a cousin i am to freddie Foreman would be very much appreciated x

Have you done a DNA test?

The Foreman/Hamerton marriage was 1949 so what relationship was your father to F.....

There is a tree on Ancestry you may want to take a look at if you have an Ancestry subscription.  If not - most libraries have free Ancestry access

Rootschat has a no living persons policy & according to an article via Google - the person you are asking about is still alive & celebrated his 93rd birthday in March.  Were you aware of that fact?

I have asked the moderator to remove his name from your post & as he is still alive & has family - you may want to enquire about your relationship directly with the family

Have you got the marriage certificate for the Foreman/ Fillingham 1904  to see who his father was and the ages of those getting married.

The Robert Foreman who died Hackney 1907 was 13 years old  if your Robert Edward Foreman was born 1883 he would have been 24.

The Robert Edward Foreman b 1883 has mmn Robertson

1868 marriage Francis Foreman/Ellen Robertson

1891/1901/1911 censuses show him unmarried & living with parents so he is not the Robert Edward who married Mary Fillingham in 1904

Renna Violet Hamerton was born Renna Violet Gilham 1932 registered Islington, she was illegitimate, a copy of the birth certificate will tell who her mother was.

By 1939 she is using the surname Hamerton, living with George and Hilda Wilson (nee Tooth) in Bletchley Buckinghamshire.

The tree on Ancestry I mentioned in an earlier reply shows Robert was b Birchington Kent - parents Robert & Harriet Jane nee Brooks

In 1911 Robert E Foreman 31 b Kent is with parents in Kent but shown as married.  Occupation - ostler.

There is a crime report in 1914 in a Kent newspaper (I don’t have access) He died 1941

So - why is Mary Ellen shown as a widow in 1911 & 1921?

You need to buy the 1904 marriage cert to establish his occupation & his fathers name & occupation
