Is she in your fanily tree?
« on: Friday 30 September 05 14:02 BST (UK) »
KATE ELLIS born 1860 Dudley Worcs  tailoress
mother Catherine father?

I have Kate in 1861-71-81 census and presume she married
before 1891.

I can't find a marriage or death for her, and now hoping
someone may have her in their family tree.

There's a possibility that she could have wed and given
MILLS as her surname.

Her brother used 2 different names for his marriages
1st John Mills  Father  John Mills
2nd ....  Ellis      .......   Charles Ellis
(No father on birth cert. but the lodger was a Charles Mills)

All very complicated, intriguing and scandalous as the above
lodger seemed to be married to Catherines mother accord-
ing to the 1841-51 census.

Catherine had 2 more children besides John-Kate all born
after her mother died.

             What a mix-up!
