1861 - Thomas Matthews Bedworth
« on: Monday 10 October 05 01:47 BST (UK) »
Seem to be having a problem with finding a great grandaunt in 1861. Have her in all other censuses but can not find she and her husband. I know they were married 1856 and her father and the rest of the siblings moved to Leicester  @1867 and she ends up there in '71 census...so my assumption is she should be on '61 Bedworth census. This is the family (note her name is  differant on every census. It should be something like below)

Thomas Matthews   32   coal carrrier    Bedworth
Librey                       24                         Bedworth
Thomas                      4                          Bedworth
John E.                        1                         Bedworth

Any pointers or info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim

:D  No...they must have thought that even I might be pushing it. It is just that this is the youngest child I have ever seen working. Before this was about 12-14. But 4 in a sweat shop? Or, not knowing much about ribbon weaving in that day, was it a "cottage" industry. I must look that up.

Have a great day!  Off to wrok 2:)!
