What is it loo, i will have a look when i get a chance, it is a really awkward search. You even need to put in the full stops after each initial.

Hi Spook
Did you get anywhere with your search? My father just sent me a certificate belonging to my grandad with the same text as what you have stated. I want to find more. Any tips or guidance will be appreciated.

It's difficult, often impossible, to find MiD details.
I've had my Dad's certificate for several years. I tried several places to find details and then paid for a copy of his service records (which arrived just over a week ago). They only say "in Recognition of Gallant & Distinguished services in Italy".

Thanks Graham. My grandfather was in the Indian regiment and then moved to Pakistan. Who did you contact to get service records. I’d really like to find more details and perhaps even frame these for my grandmother.
Thanks
Khurram

I got them from the Army Personnel Centre in Glasgow, Khurram, but that is only British Army. I used the link at https://www.gov.uk/get-copy-military-service-records.
The IWM has some information at https://www.iwm.org.uk/research/tracing-your-family-history/tracing-your-army-history/where-to-find-army-service-records but I'm afraid I don't know anything about obtaining Indian Army records.

Thanks. I’ll try these link. Assuming British Indian army records are held there too.

I am Zoe Northeast, granddaughter of Maximilian Double.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,
Zoe
