Hello Kim,

I had a very lengthy message written to you. After writing it I decided to have a look at a map of the City of Londonderry or the City of Derry as some people prefer to call it. I am almost certain the place you are questioning is Springtown Road and it is a case of someone not understanding the local pronunciation. You should be able to enlarge the maps

Good luck with your search. If you would like to post the name of your ancestors you should get a lot more assistance fairly rapidly.

Chris
