I have Arthur Septimus Sheen at Rhulen, Radnorshire, born about 1864 and died in Smethwick in 1937. My membership of Ancestry.com will not let me see their record held under OneWorldTree so if anybody can supply some info I would be grateful.

Thanks, Pam. Yes I found those snippets and even managed to get an image but was hoping that whatever OneWorldTree was keping to itself would fill in after 1901 where (I think) I found him as Septimus Sheen in Monmouthshire (RG13/4968). I was also hoping to discover relationship to Sarah Ann Sheen, born abt. 1860, who subsequently married Francis Albert Lane as they were all living in Smethwick and all died there in the late 1930s.

If Arthur Sheen appears to the grandson of Ruth and  Dantsey Sheen.
Dantseys birthplace, Llanfihangel nant Melan Radnorshire. Circa 1790
Ruth’s, Llanfihangel bryn Pabuan, Breconshire. Circa 1800
(The family were at the same place for all census, 1841-1871.)
In which time they listed children,in various different orders, and with varying ages.

There are over a hundred Sheens listed on the 1851 census, so there may be a connection between the various branches.

I have got Arthur Septimus Sheen born 3 June 1863 at Lower Cwmole, Llanbadarn Y Garreg. He was the son of Margaret Sheen b 1835 at Disserth - but I don't have any fathers details.
Margaret was the dau of Danzey Mantle Sheen born at Llanfihangel Nant Melan 28 Nov 1790 and Ruth Price b 1805. They were married on 18th August 1830 at Disserth. I ahve got another 6 generations of Sheens going back is they would be any use to you please contact me - angieprobertjones@hotmail.com

  Many thanks, Angie and kmo. My interest in Arthur Septimus Sheen was to see if he had any family relationship with Francis Albert Lane and his wife Sarah Ann (I now believe to have been born Beard, not Sheen). He lived with them in Smethwick from 1901 (at least) until his death in 1937 and was apparently a preacher of some kind. It is pretty clear from what I have discovered (although there seems to have been more than one Septimus Sheen in Wales) that they met in Newport and were there in the 1891 census but there was apparently no family relationship. Many thanks for the additional information, I'd be grateful for any more background information if you have it.
