1861 Census look up Longham/Alexesshott

Can anyone help me find the Kirtland Family please.

William Kirtland born abt. 1824 Thame, Oxfordshire, boot/shoemaker.
Eliza Kirtland born about 1824 Thame, Oxfordshire wife -  the 1871 census says that she was born Alexesshot ,Hampshire
Mary Elizabeth Kirtland daughter born Thame ,Oxfordshire 1850
Annie Kirtland daughter born Edward Road, Middlesex 1856
John F Kirtland son born 1859 place of birth given 1891 census Thame, Oxfordshire, 1881 census Tonghamoor(BS) 1871 census Alexesshott,Hampshire
Esther or Cater Kirtland daughter born 1863 Longham ,Hampshire.
I would be grateful for any sighting of this family please

Note to any searcher:
Shiela has now sent off for a birth certificate (March 1860) , so an address should be available when that comes back.

I am still awaiting birth certificates but I now know that Alexesshott should read Aldershot.

The birth certificate has just arrived for John Francis Kirtland dated February 1860. Unfortunately the only address is Tongham, which I now know is near Aldershot.

I now know that William Kirtland was born about 1815 in Oxfordshire not 1825 and there was at least one other son William Moses Kirtland born about 1848.

I would be grateful for any sighting of the Kirtland family .

At the moment I don't think anybody will be able to help you with your look up request.

This is for two reasons. Firstly, the 1861 census in notorious for being the least transcribed of all the census years. Furthermore, (in my opinion) Hamphire Genealogical Society do not seem to be too interested in census transcription projects. Their 1851 census is complete but their publication system is not very good, they have not produced a CD-Rom for this census yet.

Nevertheless, I hope there is someone out there who can help you.

P.S. As you know the address you want to look up up can always try contacting the Record Office and asking if the will check the relevant pieces for you.

Still around  and always keen to hear about the Kirtlands . My 2 x greatgrandfather was William Kirtland born 1815 • Fencott, Charlton on Otmoor, Oxfordshire who married Eliza Burnard in 1847. They lived in Thame Oxfordshire but eventually moved to London. Do you have a connection to this family ?
