Link: On Eagles Wing - Scots, Irish, American Emmigration
« on: Saturday 22 October 05 00:23 BST (UK) »
Many messages are posted on RootsChat asking about life in the days of the Famine and the times of the mass Emigration from Ireland. It is possible to describe these events in coloured paintings, black and white pictures, and also words. The site below tells the story of immigrants coming from Scotland arriving in Ireland. They suffered hardship in Ireland and later crossed the Atlantic to America. Their story is told in a musical by the north of Ireland composer, John Anderson. I hope this Link helps to create a better picture in your minds of the lives of people in the north of Ireland during the years 1600 to the mid 1800s.
