would anyone know if there is such a place in nottinghanshire that sounds somthing like
ramskill.?

I'd suggest Ranskill, which is part of the parish of Blyth on the Notts/Yorkshire border.

Hi There is a village  in Notts named RANSKILL located between Bawtry & Retford. Is this it?
