Bradford 1871
« on: Monday 23 August 04 10:40 BST (UK) »
Hi

I now have the marriage certificate for Mary Scanlon, the date of the marriage is 16 May 1874 age 18 years, she wed Alexander Hunter age 21 years.

At the time Mary was living at 19 Chandos Street Bradford, Her father is called Robert Scanlon (Tailor)

Alexander Hunter was living at 44 Hardy Street Bowling, his father's name is missing, Alexander was also a Tailor.

They married in the Roman Catholic Chapel, Stott Hill,Bradford.

Now that I have a bit more information can anyone help with a seach of the Bradford area possibly from the 1871 Census - as I have drawn a blank on tracing them until 1881.

Would appreciate any advice,

Regard

Can't find Alexander though. Ask for a lookup by 1871 address. Bradford should be street indexed.

Yes it was well worth the wait!

Where did you find the info?  as I would like to see a copy of the document if poss.

I wondered if I could have found it earlier if I had tried Scanlan in stead of the Scanlon I have been looking for.

I'll try requesting a look up for the earlier census, as it looks like they were in Bradford in 1861 and probably 1851.

Thanks for your help and advice
