Im looking for the 'Finlay' family of Grangemouth/Falkirk
In particular a William and Emily both born around 1938-44?

Hi Penninah,

As the people you are looking for may still be living, the only way (I think) you'll be able to access any information about them is to go in person to Register House in Edinburgh.

If you have a look at Scotland's People's Homepage, you'll see the dates for the online records:

» Births 1855-1904
» Marriages 1855-1929
» Deaths 1855-1954

Alternatively, you could try looking up old copies of 'The Falkirk Herald' at

Falkirk Library, Hope Street, Falkirk FK1 5AU.
Tel.01324-503608.

or

Grangemouth Library, Bo'ness Road, Grangemouth FK3 8AG.
Tel.01324-483291.

Both hold Index to Falkirk Herald on microfiche.

Both open: Mon.,Tue.,Thur. 9.30am-8pm; Wed.,Fri.,Sat. 9.30am-5pm.

Anne

Hi again,

Sorry, I just looked at your profile and saw you're in Bath, not very handy for popping in to either library!

Try phoning them.

Good Luck!
