Hastings & St Leonards

Whilst doing research for Local History and Open University Courses, I was able to photocopy several directory for the Hastings and St Leonards area.

These include:

1852 Osbornes Directory of Hastings & St Leonards

Clergy, Resident Gentry, and all Tradespeople in Alphabetical order.

Also included are Poor Unions, Registar of BMD, Public Buildings and Institutions, Places of Worship, Societies, plus other local information

It also contains some very interesting trade adverts of the day.

1855 Post Office Street Directory of Hastings & St Leonards

Clergy, Resident Gentry, and all Tradespeople in Alphabetical order.

It also contains mostly Post Office information.

1854  Hastings & St Leonards News (Directory - Free Supplement)

Resident Nobility, Clrgy,  Gentry, and all Tradespeople in Alphabetical order

1862 Post Office Street Directory of Hastings & St Leonards

Clergy, Resident Gentry, and all Tradespeople in Alphabetical order.

It also contains mostly Post Office information.

1872 Parsons Street Directory of Hastings & St Leonards

Clergy, Resident Gentry, and all Tradespeople in Alphabetical order.

Also included are Poor Unions, Registar of BMD, Public Buildings and Institutions, Places of Worship, Societies, plus lots of other local information

It also contains some very interesting trade adverts of the day.

1881 Parsons Street Directory of Hastings & St Leonards

Lists street by street all the residents of Hastings and St Leonards, very handy to cross reference with the 1881 census.

It also again has some very interesting trade advertisements.
