Richard trott 1861/71/81 censuses
« on: Friday 28 October 05 15:03 BST (UK) »
Can anyone find Richard Trott born c 1835in any of these censuses.  may have 'married' a Sarah White/Sarah Pomeroy between 1857 and 1860.  I think they had two children Joel 1860 and George 1861.
Thanks

I think you've got the right fella and his sons... perhaps he married Sarah after 1861.  I had kind of assumed that she was the boys mother.  She had already had 3 children by her first husband Nicholas Pomeroy.  The reason I thought she was their mum was from someones family tree that showed it that way.  Perhaps the subsequent censuses may provide an answer.

Thanks

Well, from this it seems quite obvious to me that Honour was the mother of the 2 boys.

FreeBMD has a death for an Honour Ann Trott, December 1864, Axminster. Any good?

Richard seems to be dead by 1881. Search for Sarah Trott born Tallaton and you will find her as a widowed mother in law in the household of Isaac and Sarah A Loveridge

Looks like Sarah Trotts daughter from her first marriage married Mr Loveridge then.... Where abouts were they in 1881?
