I am doing a sideways dance with the rellies on this one
Mary's parents were James and Esther Lyle Mary went to the USA and I have not found their marriage yet........but her brother Mathew's son Mathew married a Hunter from Donegore area and also went to USA.
Now Joseph Twig married Sarah Hunter 1877 same time frame as Mathew ,both Hunters from the same area.....did the Twig's also go to the USA...there are no deaths for them in Ireland.......I have no way of checking USA records....
Can anyone help please
and if anyone is looking for Weatherup ,Hall, Lyle, McDowell links please come and ask
Steve....

Mary's father was John not James John being the son of James and Esther Lyle not their daughter
I seem to have spent hours barking up the wrong tree....
although I have found many other links to my immediate family
Thank you all

Looks like your family twig is growing!!
Dave Hall here with Hunter in the family but after these dates, so many Halls have such similarities yet not related.....The only definite occurence of my Halls are at Shane castle Gardens....no Lyles or Weatherups or Weatherdowns.....Good hunting!!

steve-
are you looking up the weatherup's of Carrick area? My husbands granny was Elizabeth weatherup and her dad was David Weatherup but we can't find any record of him. Elizabeth was born in 1881 and she married Hugh Hopkins. We know Elizabeth was born on the family farm on the Sleivetrue road. Any thoughts on this one.

Well strangely enough I had actually given up on my g/father's line and concentrating of g/mother's line when 3 generations earlier I found her ancestor's marriage....yep...to my g/father's line....then got back to what I was actually looking for in first place. So keep records/references etc on a spreadsheet....of any reference you come across when searching, they could very easily be useful later! Cousins marrying cousin marrying cousins.....AAAARRRGH!!

Probate of the Will of David Weatherup late of Slievetrue Carrickfergus County Antrim Farmer who died 29 November 1914 granted at Belfast to Thomas Weatherup and Thomas McKee Farmers.
You can find this on the PRONI site under wills calendar, there should be a more detailed will at PRONI
