Kingwilliamstown Emigration Scheme/ListWhen Richard Griffith was compiling the Valuations in Co. Cork he recommended to the Commissioners of Woods a scheme for the removal of the
"surplus population" from the crown estate of Kingwilliamstown which is situated in the parish of Nohaval Daly, barony
of Duhallow, near Kantuck and the Cork-Kerry border. The estate's crown agent, Michael Boyan, received instructions to proceed with Griffiths' recommendations and prepare lists of tenants who would emigrate willingly as well as lists of others who would need to be removed so that
"improvements" could be made on the estate.
