« on: Monday 02 February 09 01:41 GMT (UK) »
Looking for information on Emma Hammond, born Danbury Essex circa 1829, possibly died 4Q 1876 ???? She married Abraham Cass of Broomfield Essex May 15, 1852....and had several children.
She is not on 1881 Census forward.
Parents possibly John and Sarah Hammond.
Would anyone have a connection to my Emma?  Hope you can help.

1881 Abraham Cass is shown as "widower" living with daughters
Abraham 50 born Broomfield
Kate aged 24
Edith 15
Mary 11
and grand daur Emma Gething aged 3
all siblings born Springfield

address Philips cottages Springfield
Ref RG 11/1766 FOLIO 36 PAGE 5

I cannot find her on 1851 so far, Living next door to Abraham on 1851 is a family of Hammond , Thomas and Sophia
So the death you found is quite possibly her, you may only find this out by purchasing a cert

Happy hunting

Thanks Louisa Maud.....we will keep looking, but thank you for replying to me so quickly.  From her marriage, I know that her father was John Hammond, a painter.
On the 1851 Census, I found John Hammond, age 65, born Clare, Sussex, a painter by profession, living with his wife Sarah, 61, born Danbury.

Take care and good luck in your own research.

I can't understand why she is not on 1841 aged about 12, or the 1851 which is so near her marriage date.

Did she have any siblings, ?

Clare I think is near Cavendish in Suffolk, IGI shows marriage in Cavendish, I found one to  Sarah White, just a thought

Happy hunting Joker, I hope something turns up for you
