Agombar Huguenot family
« on: Wednesday 27 January 10 12:26 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for information about the Huguenot family Agombar. I have got back to Jacques who married Judith Flovan (or Flavan or Flauvant) about 1730. Their records seem to come from the Threadneedle Street Church. Any more information out there ?

I have a Flovan (John) c1707 who married Margaret Rondeau in 1757.  The Rondeau's were also Huguenots and are my direct ancestors.

I also have an Agombar (Mary) c 1832 who married into another branch of my family in 1854 when she married Charles Upcraft.

I get an awful lot of hot matches on Genes Reunited for Mary Agombar, so there are definitely people researching them.  If you're not already a member, search for Agombars and Flovans over there.

If you want to have a look at my tree, send me a message.

Thanks a lot - I'll try Genes Reunited

My descent research is from Susanna Agombar, born 1811 and daughter of David and Susanna (no surname for Susanna yet.)
I have a Mary Agomber, born 1831 daughter of John and Ann and a Mary Ann born 1832, daughter of William and Margarett who I think may be her nieces. I'm still trying to establish if this particular John and William are Susanna's brothers. Her brotyher John was born 1806 and her brother William Henry in 1806. Any light you can shed would be welcome.

Hi again,

You should contact Stephen Barnes on Genes Reunited.  He has Susanna Agombar on his tree.  Susanna's mother was Susanna Smith.
Mary Agombar is the Mary from my tree who married Charles Upcraft.

Willaim Agombar was married to Margaret Sherry.

There is a member on here who has excellent Huguenot resources. I am not sure of the rules about making references to fellow members on this forum without their knowledge but if you want his name just send a PM.

Hi,

I came across your post when searching for relatives from the Agombar family.

My great grandmother was Emily Martha Agombar. Further research shows that her family line appears to go back to Jaques Agombar & Judith Flauvant my GGGGGG Grandparents.

From there the line continues through his parents Pierre Agombar & Mary Wishau then to Jacob Agombar & Maria Le Grand to Jacques Agombar & Ann Le Grand.

The next one in the line is Jacob but no record of his spouse is found and his parents were Jehan Hagombart (the earlier form of Agombar) & Francouise Malfuon.

Hope this may be of some help

I have an Anne Agombar married to Hubert Eusebe  ( our line) in 1735 it appears that they had five Children : Daniel 1738 - Susanne 1739 - William 1746 - Anne 1748 & Jacques 1752 - I know that Hubert & Anne lived in 122-124 St Johns Street Bethnal Green, that he was a weaver also that he died in the French Hospital on 18 Aug  1773 aged 62 yrs.
However, have not found Anne's death or followup on their children.
