Glasgow Records held on microfiche by the LDS
« on: Saturday 20 March 10 13:56 GMT (UK) »
Recently researchers have found that some Glasgow City Council departments require a large fee to do any searches (e.g. in excess of £60 for a search at the cemeteries department). Through my local FHS I have found that the LDS microfilmed a number of the City Records and these are available from their Family History Centres.

To check what records are available go to the LDS site at http://www.familysearch.org/ click on Library on the top menu and select Library Catalogue

In the search page which comes up enter Glasgow in the first box and Scotland in the second this should bring up a page of the records held each of which is a link to a breakdown of exactly which records have been recorded

For example under cemeteries Riddrie Park Cemetery the records are held for 1900 - 1995

Although there is a cost involved in ordering the records to be sent to your local Family History Centre its still a lot less than Glasgow Council ask.

That's great Falkryn - I never thought of looking there - especially for burial records!
