Thanks for that.

But I should have mentioned that the dates I have are more recent than the 1901 on Scotlandspeople.

The two records I am looking for are in;  a) 1973  and b) 2002.

Not online.  You can search for wills up to 10 years ago at the National Archives of Scotland in Edinburgh.  After that you have to apply to Chambers Street.

The Mitchell Library, Glasgow has a bound set of extracts of Confirmations & Inventories, from the 1870s to the 1930s.    Skoosh.

is there a searchable Probate Registry for Scotland?

Strictly speaking, no. The term probate has no meaning in Scots law. What you need is the calendars of confirmation.

Those before 1901 are on the Scotland's People web site. After 1901 there are annual calendars, which are huge tomes which list the confirmations in alphabetical order by the surname of the deceased person. I am not sure what the last of these tomes is - probably about 1940; after that you need to visit the National Archives of Scotland.  However the most recent wills are not held there and you have to order and pay for them. I asked about one in 1994, but didn't actually take it any further so I don't know the exact procedure.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
