Hi Wpg,

Henry CLARK "Nile" who married Mary Olive DUFFY is my great grandfather.
I will contact you on a personal message as I am surprised that you say he is named as James Henry on his marriage certificate.     ???  He is just Henry on the TPI and the death notice for his son James names him as Henry John.

Hi Bob & WPG
Henry Clark is my GGGrandfather. I have some additional info. Henry DOD 16/12/1906 at his son's residence(possibly Cornelius). Notice in Hobart Mercury has age at 86 making DOB 1920 and worked most of his life at "Rostrevor" & "Woodstock" estates. I have a scan of the marriage register if you need and also a transcript from York Assizes gaol report & Calendar of Felons. There doesn't seem to be any other Henry & Grace getting married in the right time frame.

Thanks Robert,

WPG and I have been emailing each other. I would like a copy of the marriage registration and a copy of the trial you mentioned, perhaps you can contact me by personal message.

I think you are right about us having the right parents in Henry and Grace Clark.

It was not Cornelius' house Henry died at, as Cornelius was living in Victoria at the time his father died.  It was more likely Henry the younger, who was living at Triabunna at the time.

Which of Henry and Mary's children do you descend from? I am a grandson of Eliza who wed Joseph Pike, convict.

Regards, Bob

I think I may have a similar Henry Clark. Born 1822 in Craven York - married Mary Duffy

There were two Mary Duffys with similar details. Mine was tried 8th march 1849 in Armagh for burglary. sent out for 7 years. Her convict sheet lists her as marrying Henry Clark the ??? at Buckland Oct 14/52

I am a descendant via his son
       Albert William CLARK
Born Oct 1862 Spring Bay Tasmania died 13 Aug 1933 Hobart
       Married Eliza(Elsie) Clara BROWN

2 Daughters Olive Flora and Gladys Mary.  Gladys was my grandmother. My father is Harold Turner

If you have any information you can point me to regarding this line, it would be greatly appreciated

I have a couple of photos I can send you. Albert William, his wife Eliza Clara and their daughters.  Plus we have a photo of some relatives visiting when they were at Snug - all my dad can remember is they were probably the ones from Triabuna you may know some of them

Thanks

Hi
You have the right Henry Clark & Mary Duffy. The marriage to George Drew was to the other Mary Duffy transported on the same ship. It has been recorded incorrectly. the transcription is married Henry Clark T(icket of)L(eave) holder at Buckland. I have a copy of their marriage register if you don't have it. Henry could have been born c. 1820 or 1822 depending age given at trial verses age given at death. I have christening dates for his siblings... found all except his. Parents - Henry Clark & Grace Smith. graces parents - henry & Elizabeth.

I have Albert's birth as 26 Oct 1862 & christening 21 Feb 1863. Let me know what you need and I'll send it... would love to get any photos you would like to pass on. Do you know where Albert was living around 1915? I have a copy of WW1 diary of Vic Bellenger and he mentions visiting uncle Albert before embarking. It would have been Albert Clark. I'm descended from Minnie(Mary) & William Bellenger.
Just send me a private message with you email.
Regards
Robert
