Peter Paul Whelan

This is the last brother.

Peter Paul Whelan was born in 1874 in Queens County Ireland.
He married a lady named Cecilia Maria Louise  Le Guillou in Paris. Sometime later he moved to the USA and on the 1900 census he was living Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (I could not see what year he immigrated or what his profession was except I know he was a priest.

On the 1910 census he was living in the Washington district of Columbia (Again no profession or what year immigrated) I viewed this on family search.

I believe he immigrated c1896.

He died in New York in 1938.
I do not have him on any other census or know what church he served at but any help would be great.

On the 1910 US census Peter P Whelan's occupation is as a secretary at the French Embassy. It says he immigrated in 1896 and is naturalised.

Well blow me away, I was laways told he was a priest like his other four brothers. Even his brother-in-law Henry Le Guillou was a priest.

Was he a priest in 1920??? Sorry to be cheeky.

No, he was working at the French Consulate in 1900

Did you know two of his daughter's were born in New Mexico?

Thank you for the info, I'm proper shocked, was always told he was a priest.

Maybe he was ordained after 1910 (Clutching at straws now)

I don't know where any of the kids were born as of yet. I think one was born in Paris (Unsure).

Just goes to show that family stories have to be investigated and don't I know it!

I can't find him in the 1920 census so am trying to find his wife and/or children.
