Yes,

It looks like Jane Murphy was his landlady !

Lowe's pub in Dean Street seems to be the only pub on Dean Street that I can find a mention of.

Of course that's not to say that there was another pub there in your time frame.

It might be worth getting an irishnewspaper archive sub at some point should you wish to follow it up.

They are seemingly reviewing their subs at the mo to make them more competitive !

Some pubs on Patrick Street

Liam Kenny's

http://dublincitypubliclibraries.com/image/141-liam-kennys

I'm not sure if Lynch's and Kenny's are one and the same pub

http://www.rareirishstuff.com/blog/lynches-pub-patrick-street-dublin-1960s.5217.html

Nash's ~ I'd nearly swear that these are all one and the same pub in different time periods

If anything it seems to narrow things down to one pub in Dean Street and one pub in Patrick Street.

Given that your family story specifically mentioned Dean Street / Patrick Street ~ the pub Liam Kenny's sits on the corner junction where both these streets meet.

I'll go out on a limb here and say that this HAS to be the pub that you are looking for.

So, looking at the 1911 Census I'm trying to work out is this the pub !

The Dean Street publican reference needs to be ruled out for now as the same family are there 1901 to 1911 !

Hum this is the address AND name match to the pub as per the blog that I attached earlier!

I THINK some pubs were also classed as Grocers

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Dublin/Wood_Quay__part_of_/Patrick_Street__South_Side/82176/

Now to see can I find it in 1901  ???

Francis Martin was there in 1909 (as per electoral roll) so we are narrowing down the dates !

You say that Joseph was in Meath Street in 1902.

Did you say that was the address that Eliza died at ?

Was there an occupation for Joseph on the death cert ?
