Penery, Ernest Luscombe
« on: Monday 24 March 14 18:58 GMT (UK) »
Trying to trace what happened to my great grandfather. He arrived in South Africa around 1900 with the British Royal Army Medical Corps and married Josephine Andrina (surname unknown). They had two children, Charles Ernest and Margaret. I am not sure if he died in SA or returned to the Uk as I can find no record of his death. If anyone can assist it would be appreciated.

If you look on familysearch, Africa and then Natal Province Civil marriages there are three marriages for Penery's.

The first is for an Ernest Luscombe Penery who married a Lucy Florence Roberts on 16 October 1918.  He was a bachelor and was 30 years old.

There is also one for a Phyllis Gwendoline Thelma in which the witness is a C.E. Penery. (Possibly Charles Ernest??)

The third one is for an Ernest Charles - possibly another relative?

Hope this helps
