Aimee86, I just stumbled on your chat through Google and as a result joined rootschat - I have only skimmed the chat and need to sit down a read it properly.
I am sorry for your recent loss and wish so much I had found this chat earlier.
My grandad was Thomas Leo Clare (1903-1976) and my nan was Eva Hollingsworth (1912? - 2002, she always lied about her age! and she changed her name to Mary when her sister Mary died!). Michael (known to the British army as Thomas) was my dad's beloved uncle Mick. My dad, Tommy was their first child, Mary and Cathy were born in Ireland then Tom and Eva had three more boys after moving to Birmingham. My dad died in 1985 but all his siblings are still alive. If you are up to carrying on with your search please get in touch, I've done a bit myself and might be able to clear some things up; and I have photos of "Miss Mary Farrell and Miss Margeret Clare" as kids and of Mick, as well as his army papers that my dad had.
