I have a book called "Mechanical Aberdeen" (by John Reid) Industries & Services 1888 - 1913. Aberdeen's oldest engineering firm was founded in 1798: Wm.McKinnon & Co. Ltd.,
They were Engineers, Ironfounders & Boilermakers. It sounds as though that company fits the bill :) Obviously there were many industries in Aberdeen, not just this one, shipbuilding, for instance. Hall Russell & Co.Ltd, were also Iron & Brass founders, Engineers & Boilermakers. James Abernethy & Co., Clyne, Mitchell & Co. Ltd., Blaikie Bros. Footdee Iron Works, John M.Henderson & Co. Ltd.,  also fit the bill.
Hope this helps,

The National Library of Scotland has the Aberdeen Post Office Directories for this period available to read free on its website. They are searchable - enter boilermaker in the search box.
