Wilson from Chester st cargo fleet
« on: Friday 03 October 14 22:52 BST (UK) »
Can any one help I have hit a brick wall. I have got a 1911 census record for David wilson born 1860 is of Lewis stornoway scotland.
And the address is Chester street cargo fleet, and there is a Harold brown, age 4 years and says grandson to David wilson.
But that is all I can find out would like to no who he's mam is and what happened to him after 1911 as I have looked but seem to find nothing at all. Thank you so much

The 1911 entry has more info than you have given - wife and children all b England.

Have you checked for a marriage for him on freebmd as his marriage cert will give his fathers name. The 1911 image tells you how many years they have been married as a guide

www.freebmd.org.uk

Have you checked for a Wilson/Brown marriage to account for Harold

There is a possible 1861 Scottish entry for him as David W Wilson b 1860 Rosshire Stornaway with parents Robert and Barbara H R Wilson

Father Robert was a gas manager

This is from Family Search

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/F79T-XHY

Freebmd has a marriage in 1883 to Mary Ann Henderson

From Family search

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/2DZR-F2W

Freebmd can be used to search for his death from 1911 onwards - probably in the Middlesborough Registration District

Freebmd has a Wilson/Brown marriage in 1906 which is also on Family Search but I can't say with any certainty that they are Harold's parents

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/2D8K-QLM

You would need to buy a copy of his birth cert to be certain

Births June qtr 1907

The 1901 census shows David's birthplace as Dundee and there was a daughter Alice aged 13 living with them at that time b Middlesborough

1891 just shows Scotland

 Andrew Wilson  28
 Christiania Wilson  26
 Annie M.P. Wilson  23
 David Wilson  21
 Barbara Mac Ivor  10

I was born in Chester Street, my mother was also born there. Her maiden name was Wilson, they lived at 24 Chester Street. Apparently my grandfathers brother also lived in the same street but I have only recently started working on my family tree so only have snippets of information at the moment.
