PURLANDS of Beccles? I'm looking for ancestors of Alethia b. 1849

I have in my family tree an Alethia Purland born 1849 in Beccles, Suffolk - I belive her parents are William and Elizia but I know nothing else.

I am curious about the surname as it's not one I've heard before and haven't been able to look it up.

would appreciate any help/advice

Going by the 1851 census, in the Purland household there are children with the surname Miles.

Found the following possible marriage.

1851 says Eliza born in Stradbroke and found the following baptism.

Eliza Cook
28th May, 1820
daughter of Elizabeth (no father mentioned)
Stradbroke.



Can't find a Miles/Purland marriage.

If Eliza was partnered with William and this is the right death reg then he died quite a while before Alithea would have been conceived!
There is a James Purland death reg December 1849, Wangford as well on FreeBMD.

In 1871, Caroline, Mrs Coker, presents as age 22 and  b Beccles  Suffolk (living in West Ham, Essex.)
