Well, I ordered the birth certificate for the first child of John PITCHER and his wife Margaret and it shows that Margaret was formerly COCHRANE, and John's occupation given as "Guard on a Railway" so the marriage found by you, BumbleB was the right one after all. 

Everything else about John PITCHER is based in Carlton Colville or later in Lowestoft, so I was not expecting to find a marriage much outside Suffolk.  However, I suppose a railway guard could well finish up in London for a while  ::) .
