Looking for descendants and ancestors of John Towill who married a Jessie Cunningham. They had at least one child, William Towill, born around 1902 who married a Noraien Craig. Any others looking for Towill ancestors please feel free to contact me.

John Towill married Jessie Cunningham in Rothesay, Bute in 1899. The certificate is on SP and should give you parent's names.

Hello, I had a look at some details on the marriage.

I found that John Towill was aged 21, listed as a Journeyman Blacksmith. Residing at 41 Watergate Street, Rothesay.

His father is shown as a John Towill, seaman, deceased. His mother is a Annie Towill (m s Roderick), also deceased.

Jessie Cunningham is listed as being 25, a domestic servant. Her father is shown as James Cunningham, Engineer, deceased. Her mother is Janet Cunningham (m s Scott), also deceased.

I am now trying to find more details of the parents of both John and Jessie in the 1891, 1881 and 1871 census returns etc. Any help would be appreciated!

kids John 12, Joseph 8 Thomas 3
1901 only Towill is Thomas 10 in some kind of institution on Rothesay, on ancestry its Bellevne Barone Road Rothesay. ? an orphanage.
There's Towells in Glasgow, but no age /name match

Annie died the year before his marriage

1898 TOWILL ANNIE   maiden name RODERICK aged 40 at ROTHESAY /BUTE

And a possible death for his father

1895 TOWILL JOHN     aged 36 at ROTHESAY /BUTE
