Can't check on FindMyPast at moment, but wonder if this is Eleanor as 'Knight' in 1841:

Not the right one unfortunately  :-\ This Eleanor shows as likely daughter of an Edward and Elizabeth Knight.

Not sure on this. What do you mean? From the births in Scotland for Eleanor, James and John, father shows as you have, John Wright.

Sorry --Just meant I wonder where they are in 1841---James b 1835---but he may have died as you suggest and Eleanor b 1834.
Were is there father --are they with him --of course could be visiting other relatives.

Sorry  :P Re-read...my children now home from school and shouting out SUPPER and homework!

Not sure what happened with James and Eleanor, daughter, for the 1841 census. Tried to find them (or at least Eleanor, daughter) earlier and failed  :-\

Thank you so much. By way of  an update Eleanor Wright the granddaughter  b 1834 stays in England. Appears she became a housekeeper  (after her Grandmother died in 1865-Penrith ) to  Rev Alex Campbell and is wife. When his wife died they married and had 3 daughters--none married. One Daughter Agnes Wright Campbell dies 14 Sept 1935. Appears John Stuart Wright did at some point go to Australia and reportedly drowned in Vitoria--not confirmed. Very many thanks for all the Help ----no one had the information you found .

Could this be the drowning in 1911 - just looked quickly, so haven't cross checked ages/dates:

http://www.rootschat.com/links/019zo/  now checked, too young

or perhaps the one further down the page:

closer in age...so possibility

We have a death in Penrith just post the 1841 census, where we had the 4 year old John Wright showing with mum and maternal grandparents.

...no sign of John aged 14 with them but a death in 3rd Qrt 1841 Penrith that might be his?)

We are also missing the James Relton Wright we had showing as born in Scotland in 1835. However, without finding the 1841 entry for John Wright, hard to say what may have happened in terms of events really  :-\

Just downloaded an interesting PDF via Trove. Will quote a snippet here:

Quote
I am attempting to trace my maternal
ancestors. My maternal great grandmother
was Agnes Annie Wright (1852-1914) and
she was the daughter of John Hutchinson
Wright (c1810-1876) and Ellen Relton
(c1810-1871) who are buried in Moama
cemetery, NSW. Agnes’ siblings were
  James Relton (1835-1879) and Susan
  Elizabeth (c1851-1932) who married Anton
  Holschier.

This is from a newsletter called Bridges and Branches and dated Jun 2008. Agnes apparently ended up in New Zealand c1870s.

Also, this seems to refer to the 'missing' James living until 1879, yet he wasn't at Mile End Old Town with his family in 1851 (only 3 children showing in 1851, those being Andrew William, Charles Albert and Agnes Ann)
